In honor of Zippo founder George G Blaisdell, Zippo owners Sarah Dorn and George Duke, daughter and grandson of the founder, commissioned 300 individually numbered 1941 Replica™ 18-karat gold lighters engraved with the design from the family Zippo signet ring.Reprising the pantograph engraving machine used in the 30s and 40s, the lighter was engraved above and below the four-barrel hinge with GGB 1941 and 2002 for the year of manufacture. Engraving on the side opposite the hinge certified the lighter as 18-karat gold.The Zippo signet ring harkens back to the 1700s when individuals wore such rings to imprint a wax seal to secure a document or envelope. The Tiffany & Company-designed and crafted ring was worn on the left pinky of George Blaisdell and is designed in a mirror image. There are nine signet rings owned by direct descendants of George Blaisdell.Item sold individually to our retailer stores only at the wholesale price.
